The State Fair of Texas is quite the sight to behold. It is often overwhelming for visitors – from the rides to the food (fried, of course!), to the exhibits, to the cars, to the concerts, to the massive throngs of people that attend. Because of ‘all the things’ – some of the cooler, quainter aspects of the fair are often missed.

  • Did you know they have a life-sized butter sculpture?
  • How about a ‘nursery’ with baby animals like chicks, goats, cows, and pigs?
  • Did you know that maybe a friend or neighbor entered the jelly contest – and won a blue ribbon?
  • Did you know you can go see live bees, shop local Texas vendor,s and sample their wares?
  • Did you know there is some absolutely amazing and impressive Art Deco Architecture on view at the State Fair of Texas?
  • Did you know you can go into a Butterfly exhibit and interact with butterflies?
  • Did you know there is a quieter part of the fairgrounds where you can see life-sized dinosaurs and swan boats?

I obviously can go on and on about all of the wonderful things at the Fair that are often overlooked – but often your IT is the same way. There are often really cool, important things that happen in your IT environment that you are not aware are there! No one really wants to think about whether their networks are secure, if email is flowing, if the internet is up – until it isn’t. These (and many more) are obstacles and challenges that vendors and organizers at the State Fair of Texas have to contend with as well.

So – next time you enjoy the fair – take time out to enjoy some of the ‘cooler’ things at the fair and think about your IT. Do you know if your company is protected by IT in the ‘cooler behind the scenes’ aspects? If you are unsure or don’t think so – hit us up. We can take a look for you and either give you peace of mind, or WE can give you the IT service you need and deserve so that you can go have another corny dog on your fair day.
